Participate

Participation is the heart of StageBase.

We believe every artist should have the opportunities to nourish and expand their creativity.

StageDates

StageDates is the perfect combination between effective networking and accessible theatre for early-career creatives.

StageBase invites a set of creatives from different theatre disciplines - from actors to stage managers, designers to producers and then some - on a free theatre trip; a pre-show meet and greet and a post-show discussion. The creatives meet each other for the first time at the venue.

We aim to discuss, encourage critical thinking and expand the participants’ collaboration circle.

DRAFT

We offer two types of sessions at DRAFT simultaneously - the collaboration zone & the quiet zone. You can enjoy writing prompts, collaborative writing and diving into different pre-selected scripts in the collaboration zone or just get cracking with your work independently surrounded by fellow creatives in the quiet zone.

AfterDRAFT is our exclusive post-DRAFT event, a free Q&A with leading theatre makers and writers diving into what it means to create work today.

Exterior

EXTERIOR is a bi-annual networking evening filled with joy, fun games and mingling with fellow theatre lovers and makers. We host games and competitions where our guests can win exciting prizes from our amazing partners.

Workshops

We've hosted an exciting range of workshops and training programmes. These workshops are targeted for theatre creatives in a variety of mediums.

In Autumn 2025, we hosted RECALL - a series of affordable acting and theatre making classes with the intention to revisit your acting training and keep warm.

Writer’s Lab 2024 was a five-week free training programme for emerging playwrights in partnership with Playhouse East, which led to plays entering further development and undertaking production.

INTERIOR are a series of one-off workshops focused on acting, directing and writing led by industry professionals

BASELINE is a series of political theatre workshops which aim to educate early-career theatre makers on how to create theatre of high social significance, utilise the world and events around them and turn our every-day into storytelling

In 2025, every single pound we raised in this one-day political theatre festival was donated to WarChild.
